At Ko'olau Baptist Church we believe in fulfilling the Great Commission that Jesus Christ gave to all Christians. The Bible says in Matthew 28:19-20 says, "Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: 20 Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world. Amen." This means we should not only share the Gospel of Jesus Christ, but we must also share the love of Christ with every person all around the world. We do this in a number of ways and below are listed a few of the many ways Ko'olau Baptist Church reaches out to the community.
Ko’olau Baptist Church members have been visiting one of our local Honolulu prisons weekly, for many years now. The men of the local prison are very appreciative that we volunteer our time to come in to them and bring the Word of God. During the cellblock time we sing songs, we pray for the men, and we open the Word of God and preach for a good 30 minutes. To God’s glory, numerous prisoners, over the years have repented of their sins and received Jesus Christ into their hearts as a result of this ministry.
The Bible says in Matthew 18:19-20, "Go ye therefore and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world. Amen." On Saturday, once a month we either hand out tracks or visit those that have visited our church. We write letters and make phone calls to reach out to the lost and those searching for a church home. We meet in the auditorium for a time of prayer, and then pass out assignments for visiting the local neighborhood.
Our Lord’s instructions are clear. In the same vein newly born again believers should seek to be mentored by more mature believers. This process of discipleship takes place in several ways at Koolau Baptist Chruch....(Read More)
